Taylor does concede though that the park did not call police until after witness statements had been collection. Local law enforcement says that the delay could impede the investigation. For more information visit the Charlotte Observer. Several people witnessed a man exposing himself to young girls at Carowinds' Boomerang Bay waterpark on Sunday afternoon, but that's not where the outrage ends. The witnesses say security refused to do anything about the incident, so they took matters into their own hands, literally. A witness, Todd Rikard, was sitting at the swim area with his fiance and 2 children. "We were trying to have a good time with our kids and we noticed this guy with his penis out masturbating with a little girl between his legs," Rikard said. "At the time I didn't know it was his daughter but later learned it was. He was staring at 3 other girls." When Rikard and others told security, they say security refused to make the man leave. Rikard says his fiance called 911 and was told to file a report with security. After two hours of trying to get security to do something Rikard noticed the man walking out the front gate. When Rikard tried to stop the man, he was pushed. So Rikard responded with a right hook and knocked the man out. That's when York County Sheriff's deputies arrived. The man was taken to the hospital, and deputies took statements from the witnesses. There's no word on his condition, but he will be free to go home. Carowinds has yet to respond. A York County Sheriff's Captain said an investigative team will look into the case first thing Monday morning. |
