Jul. 4th, 2008 --

Via Press Release: Introducing the all-new Quick Queue: With Busch Gardens’ brand new Quick Queue, you get priority access to the most popular roller coasters, rides and show in the whole park. It’s an awesome way to make the most of your time, whether you’re flipping over Alpengeist, splashing along the Roman Rapids or taking an over-the-top drop on Griffon. Ready to speed up your fun? When we say you get priority access, we mean it. We only sell a limited number of Quick Queue passes per day, so once they’re gone, they’re gone. Simply stop by any admissions window as soon as you get to the park. It’s that easy—and just like Quick Queue, it’s that fast!

Sounds like a lame qbot/flashpass... At least at most SF parks you can still wait for the row you want once in the station.

Yeah, and I can't believe you have to pay that much and can only use it once for a ride.

Sellout.

No, but in all seriousness, systems like these make the lines take twice as long to get through because they have to switch between the guests and the ultra super elite vip guests.

Why are features like this just limited to rides? Why not extend it to sit-down restaurants in the park too? Do any parks have preferred parking? For an extra price, park by the gate!

;) A lot of parks have preferred parking.... Most Six Flags have them and even a waterpark in my area.

Yeah, Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld have preferred... As you leave the parking attendant gates, just put on your flashers... Hah.

That's rather expensive to bypass the line and you don't get much anyway. Ouch.

This plan sucks big time. I will NEVER go to those parks again - EVER. They can shove their extra pay passes up their "you know where". I hope whoever came up with this idea rots in hell - and gets in realy quick, without waiting in the "regular" line. Damn, this makes me more angry the longer I think about it. Pretty soon they'll be charging extra to use their bathrooms - and even more if you need a fast pass for that!

Sounds like the Universal pass but without the escort.

I have no problem with the park trying to get a few extra dollars. I do have a problem with them inplementing a system that grabs the extra dollars at a cost to all of the people who have paid good money to enter the park. Clearly BGDE has no sense of decency toward thier patrons. I hope this one bites them in the ass.

I get into Busch Gardens for free and their lines have NEVER been substantially long before, so I'll just stick with my free pass and 20-30 minute wait. Because this Quick Pass just is not worth it in my book.

It's pretty much a fact of reality in the business world (restaurants, hotels, airlines, and theme parks) -- Reward those that pay more than the rest and treat them like royalty.

Unless a voice is raised in protest or defiance, parks are going to believe that nothing is wrong and everyone is happy and even consider spreading the idea even more.

This is becoming a sad reality at many parks. I and most of the GP hate them, but I can't blame the park for adding them since people dish out tons of money to skip lines since today's generation is very impatient.

I will say, these things would be good if lines are long and you have a limited timeframe at the park, but other than that it's just not worth it in my opinion and it really detracts from the experience of others who don't use them.
