I hope they sell this right in front of coasters so they can all puke. j/k
I don't have a problem with it, Busch Gardens has done it for years and never had issues staying a family park.

The former Paramount parks have been doing it all along, too, and I have never heard of any problems.

I don't see what a big deal it would be. Almost every park in the world sells beer.
I'm more suprised to hear they didn't sell beer.

The only known issue I remember is when some lady rode Skypilot (not sure if people remember this one) at Kings Island and she somehow managed to come out of the safety harness and fell off the ride. She was, of course, wasted. They closed the ride and the one at Kings Dominion for a while then it reopened. Then the one at KD got scrapped a couple of years later. Meh, that ride sucked anyway.

A few of the Cedar Fair parks did as well. I know we always had to tell guests to drink up their beer or dump it before they got in line.

I think it's fine for them to sell alcohol.
*BUT*: If you are drunk, you shouldn't be permitted to ride anything.
Also, if you are being rowdy, you need to be asked to leave.
If you don't leave, you need to be escorted out with a non-drinking driver, or they should call a cab.
No one gets hurt, no one gets annoyed!

Aside from Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Six Flags Magic Mountain and a few other family run parks like Holiday World and Knoebels, nearly every amusement park sells beer. It's nothing new.

I must say i really like the fact that Disney does not serve alcohol at Magic Kingdom.

Redfoot12, the ride at Kings Island was actually called "Flight Commander," but you're right about everything else, including the fact that it sucked.
The queue shed for it is still there, too. Well hidden, but still there.

Ah--the one at Kings Dominion was called Sky Pilot. Didn't know what it was called at Kings Island. I actually like the name "Flight Commander" better. The concept wasn't that bad, that you could control how the pod would spin, but the excecution was off.

I am sincerely siding with the city of Arlington and its residents. I sure as hell hope this does NOT go through. I hope the protesters send their message loud and clear!

Considering I haven't rode a coaster in over a year, this would be a good incentive to do so.

To those that think this is a big deal and think the issue should dry up:
ScienceWizrd: Rowdiness can come from anyone. It is not necessarily alcohol induced. So anyone that is being rowdy should be banned from the park.
GAmFanBoy: Chances are if the park starts selling beer, they will charge about the same as your local pro sports team does, which means these will be $6-$9 beers just for a Bud Lite. You also say you are non-alcoholic, please elaborate.
Crowd control seems to be the issue on other people's mind too. Are you saying that crowds get out of control with beer sales only?
I'm all for this. To me, it doesn't matter if a park sells beer or not.
