A Guide to Discoveryland – Disneyland Park

What used to give visitors a glimpse of the future in a land called Tomorrowland in any other Disneyland park has been aptly renamed as Discoveryland in Disneyland Paris or Eurodisney. Maybe it’s because many of the attractions featured in Tomorrowland in other Disneyland parks are actually things of today. Or maybe it’s simply because in Discoveryland, children can learn and actually discover. If Disney’s Main Street, USA brings us back to the past, then Disney Paris’ Discoveryland is very much into the here and now. In fact, Discoveryland provides a sharp contrast to Adventureland and Frontierland as everything in this part of Eurodisney seems to be very modern in design and structure.

Disneyland Paris’ Discoveryland is located right between Fantasyland and Disney’s Main Street, USA. One can get to Discoveryland either on foot or by boarding the Disneyland Railroad which starts at Disney’s Main Street USA. To start off, one can go on board the Orbitron located at the center of Discoveryland. In the Orbitron, one can ride on a rocketship and gaze in the many stars and planets that decorate the said ride. If flying is something ordinary for you, especially after having been on Dumbo’s back in Fantasyland, then you might want to try an underwater adventure in Les Mysteres de Nautilus. Lifted from Jules Vernes’ 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, this ride lets you ride on a submarine and lets you explore the very depths of the ocean floors.

Since Discoveryland is all about the future, where else would one expect to see Buzz Lightyear except here? Ride with him as he battles the evil Emperor Zurg and his minions and blast your way through a fun-filled adventure. What land in a Disney park exists without excitement? Except for Fantasyland which features mostly child-friendly attractions, Discoveryland is not lacking in thrilling and exciting rides. Go onboard the Star Tours and have a virtually good time as you go through all the scenes of Star Wars – this time including yourself. And even in Disney Paris, things are never complete with the famous – or infamous – Space Mountain. This high-speed roller coaster is different from any other coaster since everything is done in the dark Twists and turns take you to places you can’t see as this coaster is set in pitch darkness. And then again, what do you expect from a Disneyland park like Disneyland Paris? As you go through the whole of Disneyland Paris, you are able to encounter all sorts of adventures and thrills.

Get a glimpse of US history in Disney’s Main Street, USA. Experience being a cowboy in the Midwest as you go through Frontierland or be a pirate in Adventureland. Your dreams become reality in Fantasyland or be zapped into the future in Discoveryland. Wherever you go, a Disneyland park will always offer you a day of thrills and adventure. You can be assured that in Disneyland Paris, no less than the best in that department will always be made available to you.
