Cedar Point announces new requirement to ride Millenium Force, Steel Vengeance, Maverick

SANDUSKY, Ohio — Cedar Point announced a new rule for several rides amid the COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions the amusement park has implemented in its reopening, and many are unhappy about it.

Guests who are looking to ride Steel Vengeance, Maverick or Millennium Force will be required to have Access Passes, which can be obtained at the ride entrances. The passes will work as a ticket with designated times for guests to ride, due to the high demand and limited capacity.

There will be a limited number of Access Passes available each day, Cedar Point said.

Cedar Point also said it is working to open the Top Thrill Dragster for guests to ride as soon as possible.

While the passes are a part of the park’s attempts to safely and efficiently keep the park open amid the COVID-19 pandemic, many responded to the park’s tweet to express their displeasure with the new system.

Cedar Point reopened on Thursday to Season Passholders and will open to the public soon.

Reservations are required to visit the park and many guidelines and restrictions have been put into place in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 among guests and staff.
