There are a variety of Disney theme parks that make up Disney World in Orlando, FL. It may take you a bit of time and research to make up your mind on which of these wonderful destinations to visit.

Magic Kingdom

Disney’s Magic Kingdom has been called The Happiest Place on Earth, and includes seven imaginary worlds that span a whopping 107 acres of land in Orlando. With admittance to the Magic Kingdom, you gain access to seven unique and inviting lands, each with its own special attractions, features, activities, shopping and dining. These include:

Main Street U.S.A. takes you on a trip back to the early 20th century in America.

Adventureland is where you can explore foreign lands that are an incredible mixture of far-off places in Asia, Africa, South America, the Middle East and the South Pacific.

Frontierlandtakes you on adventures in the Wild West.

Liberty Square gives you a peak at colonial America and the American Revolution.

Fantasyland is the complete fairytale experience.

Mickey’s Toontown Fair is specifically designed for the youngest of visitors and full of all the familiar Disney characters.

Epcot

Otherwise known as the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, Epcot is a park that brings together cultures from the world over and features some of the most astounding technological advancements the world has to offer. Sitting on 300 acres of land in Orland, Epcot is the only theme park of its kind in the world. The park has two man sections:

Future World contains attractions with the primary focus on environmental issues and technological advancements. It highlights the Earth’s environment, energy resources, transportation advancements, the science of communication, innovative thought, and space exploration. There are eight themed areas within Future World: Spaceship Earth, The Land, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Imagination!, Test Track, Mission Space, Innoventions, and Universe of Energy. It is set up much like a world fair.

World Showcase consists of exhibits of cultures from around the world and is much like an international festival. It features historical and contemporary information on of each culture and has interactive areas in each pavilion. Pavilions include: Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Norway, The United Kingdom and The United States.

Animal Kingdom

A 500-acre theme with more than 205 species of animals from around the world, Animal Kingdom is the biggest them park of its kind in the world. It contains some 1,700 animals and is focused on the topics of nature, ecology, conservation and environmentalism. The park is broken into seven sections:

Oasis is at the main entrance to the park and features several animal habitats and the Rainforest Caf.

Discovery Island is at the center of the park and includes animal exhibits on all sides, gift shops, and a 4-D movie theater.

Camp Mini-Mickey is a section of the park where visitors are greeted by various Disney characters in a summer camp setting.

Africa is a fictional village with information on various African cultures and also includes many of the continent’s incredible animal species in natural habitats. There are many food and beverage locations in this part of the park as well as a gift shop that mimics the appearance of an African marketplace.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch highlights conservation, the environment and the well-being of animals. It is a very educational part of the park and provides a variety of interactive activities for visitors, including a petting zoo.

Asia is a fictional village and includes the ruins of a long-past civilization. There are land and water rides in this section of the part along with a number of restaurants and cafes in addition to some wonderful animals in natural habitats.

DinoLand U.S.A. is a part of the park that focuses on the incredible creatures that walked the earth millions of years ago. With educational opportunities, musical performances, a playground and several restaurants, this section of the park is a big hit with young and old alike.

Hollywood Studios

This theme park sits on 135 acres in Orlando and draws its theme from 1930s and 1940s Hollywood. It is designed with the appearance of a real-world movie studio, with sections of the park taking on the appearance of a working movie set. The park consists of six areas: Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Streets of America, Animation Courtyard, Pixar Place, and Sunset Boulevard.
