Disney Doodles: Lambert Finds Friends in Fantasyland

Who can name the animated short film the character of Lambert made his debut in?

If you answered “Lambert the Sheepish Lion,” you are correct! In this 1952 short, a stork’s delivery goes wrong and a lion cub makes his way into a flock of sheep, where a ewe takes him in and names him Lambert. Although he grows up to look very different than his fellow sheep, Lambert saves the day when a wolf attacks the flock.

Today’s Disney Doodle, by artist Ashley Taylor, is dedicated to Lambert, who she feels would likely seek out friends in Fantasyland.

“Lambert loves feeling accepted and loved,” Ashley said. “It’s easy to imagine him wanting to share the spotlight with all of the critters at Pete’s Silly Sideshow!”
