Inside Fun!

When it rains it pours and that what happens to a lot children’s parties in the summer. It can be such a sad state of affairs if your beautiful outdoor party is ruined by rain. In these cases you need to check your area for great places to take you children in case of emergency. Some great ideas for birthday parties when it rains are: Bowling, going to the movies, seeing a play, going to an arcade, going to indoor amusement park.

On the fly each scenario has it’s advantages and could likely yield good results. Knowing your kids as I do mine, you might be able to narrow down the choices even more, or even ad something related to the arts. If you get your kids to a museum for their birthday, by all means do that, however that has become a lot more expensive these days. Bowling, movies, a play, an arcade, or an indoor amusement park are the choices I have for either a winter party or a summer day gone bad.

Especially with summer birthdays coming I find it imperative that you have a backup plan, just in case. I know that having something to do when you are in a bind, rather planning for that bind, is the difference between a happy child and a sad child. So when ever I plan my kid’s party that could be influenced by the weather, I send out a two prong invitation. A place to go if the weather cooperates and a place to go if the weather is non-compliant. The best thing about the back up plans, is for the most part there is little planning that actually goes into them. This leads me to why I took the time to write this article.

Last week I was planning a birthday party for my child and was very much looking forward to showing her a good time. I was hoping to take her to a park, and really going all out for her. Unfortunately, it rained and I was not able to have her birthday outside. I was stuck in the mud( literally), and I had to think fast. I did not have a back up plan but lucky for me I was able to go to my local Indoor amusement park and show my kids and their friends a great time!
