Knoebels Readies Newest Roller Coaster For Opening Day Debut
ELYSBURG — Knoebels Amusement Park’s newest roller coaster should be ready to ride when the park reopens April 25, a park spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Steel work on Impulse, the fifth coaster at the park and the most expensive project in the history of the Northumberland County park (the park wouldn’t provide cost figures), is almost finished, spokeswoman Stacy Ososkie said.
The steel tower coaster will consist of more than 2,000 feet of track and take riders on a variety of twists and loops at speeds of up to 55 mph.
Three cars, each with two rows of four seats, will be pulled by a chain lift up a 98-foot vertical hill followed by a 90-degree free-fall drop.
