Planning Your Disneyland Trip
Quite often, the Disneyland we imagine in our minds is different from the Disneyland that greets us upon arrival, and it’s nor surprise that this is the case. With a powerful ad campaign depicting Disneyland as some kind of utopia where everything is wonderful and your kids will be grinning from ear to ear twenty-four seven – which is hard enough to imagine in itself – Disney has really made it seem to be the case that no vacation is complete without a trip to one of its exquisite resorts.
So we finally agree to the pleading of the kids and set about booking things. We may even end up getting a little excited ourselves – not that we’d admit it. And when the day comes, we get up bright and early and head over to the resort, happily anticipating a day or two of fun, family bonding and happiness. But there are queues everywhere. Queues for tickets, queues for rides, even queues for the toilets! And after a couple of hours spent standing in a line for thirty seconds on, it’s not surprising that some of those smiles have started to falter. It just isn’t what you were expecting.
But before you become disenchanted, there’s some good news too – there are actually several cunning ways through which you can plan your trip in order to ensure the best situation when it comes to crowds. There are plenty of websites out there when Disneyland enthusiasts come together to advise people on the best time of year to go – for example, even by simply going on a weekday rather than at the weekend will make a difference. However, if you really want to go to the theme park at a time where crowds will be less of a problem, it’s best that you head during the first quarter of the year – specifically, January and February. As Los Angeles is in its wet season weatherwise, many people will avoid the park on the chance that it will rain. And if you don’t mind a spot of rain, then visiting at this time of year is ideal – when it rains, there are often absolutely no queues for rides, which means you’ll be able to forget the wetness when you realise that you have the resort practically to yourself! For months to avoid the park, generally the summer months and December are going to be the busiest.
Otherwise, you can simply ensure to do all of your ticket booking online to save queuing time and leave your hotels near Disneyland bright and early in order to ensure you have a full day to make sure you’ve got enough time to see and do everything!
