1. The best times to arrive are early mornings or early evenings
Of course, getting to the park before it opens gives visitors an advantage, but those who can’t make it that early are urged to arrive in the early evenings on days when the park stays open later. These are the lightest times of the day, according to Fiesta Texas.
2. Head to the rides at the back of the park first
When visitors enter the park, they will most likely run to the biggest coasters around the entrance. But those who head to far-away rides — such as the Superman Krypton Coaster, Pandemonium or SkyScreamer — will get there before everyone else, according to Fiesta Texas.

3. Don’t use an ATM at Fiesta Texas unless you want to be charged an arm and a leg
Several mommy blogs and financial websites encourage taking money out before going to the park because of expensive fees that come with ATM transactions.
“Park owners realize that ATMs at these venues are both scarce and needed,” a study by Quicken Loans states. “For this reason they charge some of the highest service fees in the entire country.”
4. Aim for the back seats — they have the shortest lines
It is known that the majority of people (58 percent) favor the front seats, but not that many choose the caboose, meaning the wait isn’t as bad for those seats. According to Fiesta Texas, 17 percent of riders like riding at the end and 25 percent like to ride in the middle.
5. Save old souvenir bottles for free refills on water
While current premium or regular season drink bottles will get you free or cheap soda refills, a season bottle from a previous year will get you water refills. And in South Central Texas, water may be the best option to keep you hydrated.
6. Don’t head to the waterpark at the hottest time of the day
Yes, that sounds weird coming from a Texan, but when the afternoon heat rolls in, EVERYONE will want to cool off in the White Water Bay. So what’s the best way to get splashed without the crowd? Head to the water park just before lunch and you’ll be cool for the rest of the day, according to Fiesta Texas.
Even Fiesta Texas advises to purchase tickets and passes online to save money and time. The best prices for shopping passes, daily tickets and season passes are online, as some are up to 70 percent off regular price, according to Fiesta Texas.

According to Fiesta Texas, groups of 20 people or more could receive discounts on admission and passes when purchased online.

Six Flags reopening Grand Carousel after refurbishing and relocating it
Six Flags Fiesta Texas is reopening its Grand Carousel after refurbishing it and relocating it to the German-themed section of the park.
The carousel was closed last year to move it and make room for the new Wonder Woman Golden Lasso roller coaster that opened earlier this year, said Ron McKinzie, marketing director of Six Flags Fiesta Texas. At the same time, the park decided to refurbish the 26-year-old ride that had been there since the park opened.
The carousel’s new home is also where it was original located when the park was first built.
“It felt like the perfect time to do the restoration and relocate it to a spot where our guests loved seeing it,” McKinzie said. “It’s going back to it’s original home in the park, which is very exciting to us.”
Refurbishing the carousel’s horses was a six month process.
“There’s a lot of fine detail in those animals that are on the carousel, so we wanted to make sure we were able to match and recreate all of the detail and little nuances of each one,” McKinzie said.
The carousel is not yet open to the general public full time. Season pass holders have early access to it from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and after 4 p.m. it is open to all park goers until July 29. It can be found next to Sangerfest Hall in the center of the park.
