Universal Orlando Close Up | You Wish You Were on the Jurassic World Alive Social Media Meet-Up

Famed doctors and paleontologists may have gotten more than they bargained for when they gathered for the Jurassic World Alive Social Media Meet-Up last week in Orlando. Designed to give these dinosaur fans a closer look at Jurassic Park in Universal’s Islands of Adventure, this event’s focus quickly turned from study to survival when several dangerous species were revealed to have escaped captivity.

Heather Jennings, whose main role with Jurassic Park includes guest service and damage control, bravely kept everyone calm in the ensuing struggle while trainers McCalister and Gizzlebach debriefed the crowd on security tips. After gathering provisions including build-your-own trail mix, fanny packs, cell phone chargers, and collectibles, guests were instructed to use the new Jurassic World Alive app (Apple, Google Play) to help recover the rampant dinos.

“McCalister made me feel safe a little bit.” said Alex Barron, a guest at the event. “He gave me good advice.”

Search areas spanned the whole of Jurassic Park with Jurassic Park River Adventure and Pteranodon Flyers open to all guests to aid in the mission.

This story luckily has a happy ending as all subjects were apprehended and returned to their homes. Guests breathed a sigh of relief while gathering in the Jurassic Park Discovery Center upon confirmation that they were out of danger.

As one of the top dinosaur collectors, Kelly Steidel was awarded a stay in the new Jurassic World Kids’ Suites at Loews Royal Pacific Resort, and several others earned seats at an upcoming screening of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom.

Jurassic Park expressed immense gratitude to all guests for their patience and for helping them through this difficult time. “We’re just so glad everyone was okay,” said Jennings as a caged raptor stared at her hungrily from behind. “We can’t afford to sully our – uh – pristine reputation!”
