Vegan Star Steve-O Shares Protest Video On National Boycott SeaWorld Day

Vegan celebrity Steve-O reshared a video of one of his SeaWorld protests in honor of National Boycott SeaWorld Day on July 24.

The 2014 video shows the Jackass star changing a freeway sign, so instead of saying Sea World Drive, it says Sea World SUCKS.

Posting a video of the bold stunt on Instagram this week, the Jackass star wrote: “Apparently today is #NationalBoycottSeaWorldDay, so enjoy! #SeaWorldSucks.”

This 2014 prank was just one of the protests the vegan celebrity took part in against SeaWorld – which has faced controversy since 2012 documentary Blackfish showed the mistreatment of Orcas in its facilities.

One 2015 protest – in which Steve-O climbed a crane – saw the star sentenced to 30 days in LA County jail. Speaking at the time, he said: “Considering I’ve become a clean and sober, dog-rescuing vegan, I must say I’m ready to go to jail – not just because it will bring so much attention to the plight of orcas in captivity, but because it’s nice to let people know I haven’t lost my edge.

“What can I say, I’m a jackass. My whole crane-climbing, fireworks debacle really turned out to be pretty meaningful in the end, too. I mean, if your goal is to make a statement about captivity, you may as well get yourself locked up!”
