Six Flags Magic Mountain To Close Iconic 36-Year-Old Wooden Coaster ‘Colossus’

Colossus, the king of wooden roller coasters located here at Six Flags Magic Mountain, will end its 36-year reign. After debuting in 1978, it was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster. More than 50 million people have rode the 125-foot tall coaster, taking up over ten acres of land, with more than 4,325 feet of track.

Generations before you have cherished the long haul up this first hill and the great adventure waiting on the other side. The last day to ride this legendary classic is Saturday, August 16, 2014.
