Disneyland Resort Cast Members Celebrate Earth Month, Andrea Raney Named Inaugural “Environmentality Champion of the Year”

Nearly 50 teams of Disneyland Resort cast members created art made of recyclables to celebrate Earth Month. The top 10 submissions from the “Environmentality Art Challenge” were on display at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure park during Earth Week for guests to vote for their favorite. The winning project was Env-Iron Man, made by the facilities and operations services team out of materials including aluminum cans, circuit boards and sheet metal.

On Earth Day, Circle D Corral Attendant Andrea Raney was presented with the resort’s inaugural “Environmentality Champion of the Year” award for her role in launching Circle D Corral’s initiative to reduce overall waste. Raney led the team in creating solutions that earned the location a Zero Waste certification from the U.S. Zero Wate Business Council, with 99 percent of waste repurposed, composted or recycled.
