New Typhoon Twister water slide at Six Flags in Eureka closed after rider falls out of tube | Metro

EUREKA • A water ride which made its debut at Six Flags this summer will be shut down until further notice after a rider fell out of a tube and was taken to a hospital as a precaution, according to a statement from the park.

Sometime on Saturday, a rider came out of a four-person tube on the Typhoon Twister, according to a statement from spokeswoman Elizabeth Gotway.

She did not release any additional information, so it’s unclear when it happened, whether the rider had any injuries or how long the ride will be closed.

“We are still looking into the circumstances surrounding it,” the park said in a brief statement released by Gotway. “The well-being of our guests is always our priority. As standard protocol, we have closed the ride while we look into the circumstances surrounding a guest coming out of their tube.”

The ride sends a four-person raft careening into a 125-foot-long whirlpool bowl, down a five-story drop, up a 45-foot zero-gravity wave wall and back down into a splash pool.
