Six Flags Great Adventure is holding a coronavirus vaccination on three days this month, offering a free ticket to the Wild Safari Drive-Thru Adventure for anyone who gets inoculated at the theme park.

The clinics will be held from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. on Thursday and then again on Aug. 11 and Aug. 17 at the membership building in the park’s outer mall in partnership with the Ocean County Health Department, Six Flags said Monday.

Participants can choose the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine or the two-shot Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.

Reservations are not necessary. Safari tickets normally cost $24.99 on weekends and $19.99 on weekdays.

More than 5.3 million people who live, work, or study in New Jersey have now been fully vaccinated, according to state data. There are more than 9 million residents in the state.

About 70% of the eligible population is vaccinated in New Jersey, ranking seventh in country, according to data from the CDC. But inoculations have slowed in recent months, and about 4 million people in the state remain unvaccinated, including children under the age of 12, who are not yet eligible.

New Jersey on Monday reported another 937 confirmed COVID-19 cases and one more confirmed death as the state’s seven-day average for confirmed positive tests has more than quadrupled over the last month with the highly contagious delta variant of the virus spreading.
