Couple sues Dollywood’s guardian firm for $2M, citing harm

PIGEON FORGE, TN (WJHL)  – A Tennessee woman is suing Dollywood’s parent company and ride engineers claiming she suffered serious injuries at Splash Country.

Melissa Stone and her husband Shannan T. Stone filed the lawsuit.

It claims on July 2 of last year, Melissa Stone was injured while riding on the RiverRush Water Coaster.

The lawsuit alleges when the raft reached the top of the ride’s incline – Stone was reportedly propelled off the seat and back down into the raft.

Stone says she suffered injuries to her spine.

The lawsuit claims Pro Slide Technology was negligent in their design of the ride and that Dolly Parton Productions failed to properly inspect it.

The Stones are suing for $2 million in damages.

News Channel 11 reached out to Dollywood for comment. A  spokesperson told us they were aware of the lawsuit and do not comment on pending litigation.
