Now is a great time to plan a family day at one of the country’s many waterparks. While you can find waterparks all over the United States, here are just a few that will provide your family with lots of fun and many lasting memories. After a day in the sun at one of these waterparks, your family will want to go back every year.

Texas Waterpark: Schlitterbahn Beach

Tropical family fun awaits at the Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark in South Padre, TX. Attractions include a five story water fun house shaped like a sandcastle and multiple waterslides and water coasters.

For smaller children, there’s a wading pool area called the Lily Pad that’s full of fun, including a frog shaped waterslide. If you’re looking for a break from the water, you’ll find plenty of sandy beach areas to build sandcastles while you dry off. Adults can swim up to Bob’s Float Inn Bar, which is a hot tub complete with a bar customers can swim right up to.

Florida Waterpark: Shipwreck Island

Shipwreck Island is just one of the many waterparks in Florida. The park has attractions for everyone, including thrill rides and wave pools to easy-going attractions for smaller kids. The park is designed around a pirate theme, complete with the Pirate’s Plunge, a long, fast waterslide that thrill seekers will love.

Families with smaller children will spend a lot of time in the Tadpole Hole, which is full of smaller, kid-friendly animal shaped waterslides. The pool was designed so that even the smallest children will enjoy sliding into the shallow water.

New Jersey Waterparks: Ocean Oasis & Beach Club And Raging Waters

Wildwood, New Jersey waterparks are often sited as some of the country’s best. The Ocean Oasis Waterpark and Beach Club and the Raging Waters Water Theme Park are located in the amusement park capital, Wildwood.

Families will enjoy The Puddle at the Bonsai Beach interactive children’s area within Ocean Oasis. It’s an area of fun attractions including the Interactive Activity Pool, which has a cargo net and lily pad walk for kids of all ages. When it’s time to get out of the sun and enjoy a little lunch, families can relax in a rented cabana. The cabana staff offers meals of fruit and salads or even crabs cakes, chicken fingers and crab finger claws. Full concierge service is included with the cabana and the park even provides high speed internet access in case you need to check in with the office.

Raging Waters also offers many different kid-friendly activities. The park has an interactive pirate ship and fort named Shipwreck Shoals and the area includes a row boat, waterslides, water cannons and climbing ropes. Parents are encouraged to join in, although Raging Waters doesn’t just cater to kids. There are splash pools, tube and body slides and many other different attractions, meaning the park is fun for everyone.

Both New Jersey waterparks are available for celebrations such as birthday parties or family reunions.

California Waterpark: Wild Rivers Waterpark

There are many waterparks in California that families can enjoy and the Wild Rivers Waterpark offers something for kids and adults alike. There are many attractions and one of the most popular is the Bombay Blasters, an underground water cannon that shoots riders out three feet above the water before they fall into an eight foot deep pool. A tamer version called the Kiddie Bombay is great for children. The park has many other water attractions like river rides, waterslides and water falls.

Nevada Waterpark; Wild Island Family Adventure Park

Families will love the Wild Island Family Adventure Park in Sparks, NV. The park offers waterslides, and features non-water attractions like bowling, go-karts and miniature golf. The park even encourages children to bring in their report cards and rewards good grades with free game tokens and race and golf passes.

There are so many waterparks around the country and this is just a few. No matter where you live, you’ll be able to get a great beach experience just by visiting a local waterpark.
